I have lived in Japan and worked in the UK where I spent my youth as well as Chicago and LA in the US. In between times I have visited another 20 roughly countries to keep things interesting or work. Every trip I learned something but it really was only when I was moving into another country did I really learn to understand the culture. Celebrating Christmas in Japan with only chopsticks to fight the turkey and brussel sprouts became a time to always remember.
But how could you work abroad?
Be Flexible. If your organizational is global then you can have the opportunity to see another location, continue an exchange program or transfer for anyone who is willing to be flexible. Be Talented. If you happen to be unique or special then you may find yourself packing. A friend of mine a lawful expert has taught in China, Vietnam and Thailand. Another friend was shipped to Russia.
Be Brave. If you would like to go - do it. Go as being a tourist and discover a teaching job or love of his life and stay. And finally, some elementary information about cultural considerations. Not great - no striped ties in England seems a bit odd especially as I have about 30 of these. But mostly it's useful and interesting stuff e.g. Brits like gambling and 70% of which buy lottery tickets.
